St. Charles School’s Extended Care Programs provide families with flexible, State of Michigan licensed childcare in a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled environment. From our Enrichment Program for preschoolers to After School Care for students through 8th grade, we are committed to supporting children and families beyond the traditional school day with caring staff and engaging activities.
Enrichment Program (Ages 3–5)
The St. Charles Enrichment Program is designed for children ages 3–5 who need care outside of our regular preschool schedule. The Enrichment Room is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. during school days, providing flexible care for families while offering young children a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
Our State of Michigan licensed program is staffed by trained, approved childcare professionals who provide a balance of structured activities and child-directed play, including:
- Learning through play
- Arts and crafts
- Story time and music
- Outdoor play and gross motor activities
- Quiet rest time
- Snack and or lunch time
- Opportunities to build friendships and develop social skills
Our caring staff creates a warm, faith-filled atmosphere where every child is known, loved, and encouraged to explore, create, and learn at their own pace.
The Enrichment Program complements our preschool classrooms by providing a consistent, caring environment that supports each child’s social, emotional, and developmental growth while offering the flexibility today’s families need.
If additional care is needed beyond 2:45 p.m., children may transition to our After School Care program, where trained, approved staff provide a safe, caring environment until 5:30 p.m.
After School Care (Ages 3 Through 8th Grade)
St. Charles School offers a safe, welcoming After School Care program for students ages 3 through 8th grade. Available each school day from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the program provides dependable care for families who need supervision after the school day ends.
Our State of Michigan licensed program is staffed by trained, approved childcare professionals who are committed to creating a safe, caring, and engaging environment for every child. Students enjoy a relaxed afternoon with opportunities for:
- Homework and quiet reading
- Indoor and outdoor play
- Arts, crafts, games, and creative activities
- Healthy afternoon snacks
- Building friendships across age groups
After School Care is an extension of the caring community at St. Charles School. Children are encouraged to grow in responsibility, kindness, confidence, and respect while enjoying a safe, faith-filled environment.
Whether families need care every day or only occasionally, our After School Care program provides flexibility and peace of mind, knowing their children are cared for by trusted, qualified professionals.
